Who Are We? How did it all start?
We are a Christian Women's Fellowship group.
A sisterhood in the community of Christ from various churches
Life can be a roller coaster of a journey, friendships make it better. We come together in friendship, fellowship, faith, community and grace. To support and to help each other grow as women within the body of Christ. We are a Christian women's fellowship group that is 100% run by volunteers, mentors, facilitators and leaders that give their time, knowledge and gifts to help mentor and grow the women within the group in various ways.
We are a fellowship group, a women's only Christ centered Christian social club, a women's ministry group. We are not a church, nor do we take place of going to church. Our members come from and attend various Christian churches in the Arizona area. We encourage all of our members to find and attend a church.
We come together to:
to build authentic friendships
to strengthen our relationship with God, family and friends
to have fun, laugh, be human
to build and maintain a foundation of a Christ centered life within our own lives and families
using our gifts to help strengthen each other and the communities around us
to listen with grace to past and current life circumstances
to lift up, support and steer each other back on to a Christ centered life
knowing that we are perfectly imperfect and we will make mistakes in our lives, with each other and within our faith
God does not call us to be perfect people. He calls us to love one another in grace and forgiveness.
1 Peter 3:8, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 4:7 and Colossians 3:13

Our Statement of Faith:
"one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." Ephesians 4:5-6 NIV
We believe in the one true living God that is three in one. Consisting of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We believe that only through Jesus we can be saved.
" If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
Romans 10:9-10 NIV
We believe that dating, marriage and partnerships consists of only and between one man and one woman. Genesis 2:22-24 - Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. "one shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
How it all started:
It all started with four women meeting around a table every Friday night several years ago to study the Word of God and come together to form a sisterhood in Christ. We had all become tired of reading and participating in women’s groups that were more fluff than faith and more politics than friendships. We all had broken backgrounds. Some divorced, trauma, felt disconnect from God and in need of someone who would really listen to us.
We had a strong desire to know Him more and get into His word without using a self-help faith based book or the next new women’s book. We just wanted to read the bible and talk about it. We wanted to build a solid sisterhood, where we could hold each other accountable with grace, deepen our faith and be a support for each other in life. Our time together was short, as some moved away. But those were some of the best Friday nights I ever had. We all still keep in touch. That experience and a lot of prayer is what finally got my life pointed in the direction of women’s ministry as a profession. It had always been something that I had a passion for and had done behind the scenes as part of my life since childhood. Now God, in His perfect timing was calling me into in His service, into full time women's ministry. God had been preparing me through my turbulent life to be use for His glory in area of trauma healing and mentoring.
My husband and I recently moved. I again started a small women’s home group in our home, as I had done at each place I had lived in the past. This time around God has expanded the small home group into an amazing network of groups that is still growing. I am not perfect in all of this but that does not matter because God is and He is in control. He has put some amazing mentors and leaders in my life to guide me on this journey. I look forward everyday to see what He will bring next into my life and into the life of this glory women fellowship ministry.
How it all started in the past: My grandmother Betty is the one that stirred the desire in me to follow Christ. At the age of five, I gave my life over to God. My grandmother was an amazing woman of God. She was devoted to studying the Word. Her bible was always nearby and she was always involved in bible study groups. Throughout her life she guided my walk with Christ, gave me guidance based upon the bible and extend grace when I made mistakes with worldly choices. I miss her dearly. One of her favorite verses was Psalm 145. She truly passed God’s Word down to the next generation with a lasting impact. Throughout the years I have studied God’s word, participated in Christian youth groups, VBS, Awana, CBS, BSF, held bible study groups & events in my home, taught Christian women’s groups, organized retreats, lectured and lead trauma healing groups. I have a passion to connect women to God’s Word, to help them grow deeper in their faith, to reconnect with God after grief & trauma, and to build community with each other.
Life has not always been sunshine and roses for me. Like many of us we all have our journeys. I have been divorced once, homeless, on food stamps, without a job, had a crazy childhood, have health issues and survived domestic violence in my past. I am a child of God and I “count it all joy” (James 1:2-4). God really does use all things for good. He has used all those experiences to shape me and mold my life to be used for His glory in so many ways. I was in the medical field for 25 years and God use that part of my life to help heal others and witness to them. I also became a certified bible-based trauma healing facilitator through the American Bible Society. Through this certification I am able to share my testimony and mentor women to reconnect them with Christ. Currently, I am working towards my masters degree in Biblical Counseling. I use these gifts to mentor other women who have been through turbulence in life to find their restoration in Christ.
Some fun stuff about me: I am married now to an amazing Christian husband; we have one Chihuahua. I love to laugh (for the most part you will always see me smiling), I enjoy traveling, soak in every moment that comes my way, enjoy the great outdoors, arts & crafts, lover of all thing’s coffee & tea, enjoy spending time with others as well as taking time out for myself, I love to reading and I am in the process of writing a couple of books as well as getting my masters degree in Biblical Counseling. I hope to meet you soon at one of our functions.
Count it All Joy, Luna Carter - Founder of Glory Women Fellowship & Psalm 145 Ministry
Why the name "Glory Women" Fellowship: In all things we are to give glory to God. In hard times and in struggles, God uses all things for good and for His glory. God uses our trials to help refine us, restore us and grow us deeper in our faith with Christ Jesus. When we give all glory to God in all that we do, we are letting His light shine out on to others. 1 Corinthians 10:31 "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
